Did you know that you can apply acrylics to portions of your painting for various effects and make corrections that are impossible with watercolor?  You can work layer upon layer to form a painting without lifting the underlying layers.  In this tutorial, Mary Backer shows a couple examples of correcting problems in her watercolor paintings using acrylics.
